There's some exciting news in the ever-evolving world of mobile marketing, as Appurify – a San Francisco-based startup credited with creating a robust testing platform for mobile apps – announced in a May 28 press release that it secured $4.5 million in Series A funding. According to the source, investors include Google Ventures, Foundation Capital and Radar Partners.

Appurify aims to resolve key issues that face mobile app developers, which the company's chief technology officer and co-founder Manish Lachwani addressed in the press release.

"Mobile application development is broken today," said Lachwani. "Developers need to cater to a fragmented OS market, a constantly growing array of devices and consumers who expect apps to perform perfectly in a variety of device conditions (for example, spotty networks, any location, low memory situations due to apps running in the background). Current mobile development tools do not address this complexity."

Thanks to Appurify's technology, developers will no longer have to manually test their apps, and can instead rely on a mobile automation platform that optimizes, tests and debugs software on both iOS and Android devices.

Jay Srinivasan, the CEO and co-founder of Appurify, said that the platform has been well-received by people who work in the mobile marketing industry, as most have indicated that they are trying to move away from manual testing.
