Last August, analysts discovered that consumers are moving away from older versions of mobile devices, such as the flip phone, in favor of Androids, iPhones and Windows phones. 

''The nature of teens' internet use has transformed dramatically – from stationary connections tied to shared desktops in the home to always-on connections that move with them throughout the day,'' stated Mary Madden, senior researcher for the Pew Research Center's Internet Project. ''In many ways, teens represent the leading edge of mobile connectivity, and the patterns of their technology use often signal future changes in the adult population.''

What is also fascinating is that despite the fact that 93 percent of the participants have access to a computer at home, they find browsing the Web on their smartphones to be preferable.
